My wife and I visited the Place in the Sun Live show in 2006 and were quite interested in the proposed development at Bayview Estate, Gros Islet, St Lucia, even though we had never before been to the island, although we had been to Barbados on many occasions and to several other Caribbean islands.
There was no hard sell and we were given various pieces of information about the development and kept in contact with the agents handling the sale at that time. Eventually, having carried out research on St Lucia and finding the prices very reasonable for the properties, and liking the location and the house styles put down our deposit on a plot.
For one reason or another - firstly the developer had problems obtaining the proper planning permission which delayed the commencement of site preparation - secondly the cricket world cup was scheduled for April 2007 and no construction traffic was permitted due to the proximity of the cricket ground - the development started off very far behind the original timetable.
PLEASE SEE NEWS AND EVENTS AS THIS IS NOT HAPPENING.
Homeowners can enjoy the tranquil surroundings with our views of the Caribbean and Atlantic, with Martinique in the distance visible on a clear day, and direct views into the Beausejour Cricket Ground.
Apart from the position of the Bayview site and the views, St Lucia is an island which caters for all tastes and provides activities to suit all ages and abilities. The people are welcoming and very friendly and you don't seem to get the attitude which is now all too common in Barbados that tourists are a nuisance. Other Caribbean islands don't give the warmth that the St Lucian people give, and the lush, green landscape of St Lucia provides some wonderful and spectacular scenery which you don't find in very many places.
Where else in the world can you drive into a volcano and be sure you will come out in one piece? Or ride in a gondola through the rainforest canopy? Or ride horses along the beach and in the sea? Check out the page "about St Lucia and discover more reasons to invest in St Lucia. |
